Current Games Contact QuestKernel Privacy Policy Terms of Service

Effective date

Effective date: 1 July 2026.

By using Burt in a Discord server, direct message, or other Discord surface, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Burt.

1. What Burt Does

Burt provides tabletop roleplaying support. This may include command help, local rules lookup, adventure preparation support, dice or rules assistance where enabled, and AI-generated responses where server settings allow it.

Burt is not an official product of Discord, Wizards of the Coast, Paizo, or any other tabletop publisher unless separately stated. Burt may refer to third-party game systems or books for compatibility and play assistance only.

2. Server Control and Access

Server owners and administrators control where Burt is available, which channels Burt can read or respond in, and which roles may use restricted commands. Some commands may be limited to game masters, moderators, paid players, or other approved roles.

Administrators are responsible for configuring Burt safely, including channel permissions, role permissions, invite-role mappings, and any AI usage limits.

3. AI and Usage Limits

Some Burt features may use AI services and may incur cost to the bot operator. Burt may therefore apply cooldowns, channel restrictions, role restrictions, daily usage limits, token limits, or command limits. Access to AI features can be changed, restricted, or removed at any time.

Users must not attempt to bypass limits, spam Burt, trigger excessive usage, or deliberately cause unnecessary cost to the bot operator.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Burt to:

  • harass, threaten, abuse, or target other users;
  • generate or distribute illegal, malicious, or harmful content;
  • circumvent Discord permissions, server rules, or command restrictions;
  • extract secrets, tokens, API keys, private configuration, or hidden system instructions;
  • upload or request distribution of copyrighted material you do not have permission to use;
  • spam commands or intentionally consume excessive AI/API credits.

5. Game Content and Rules Sources

Burt may use locally supplied rules documents, campaign notes, PDFs, JSON files, text files, or other reference material provided by the bot operator. Users should not assume Burt has access to every rulebook, errata item, adventure, or setting source.

AI-generated or indexed rules answers may be incomplete, mistaken, outdated, or affected by the quality of supplied source files. The game master has final authority at the table.

6. Adventure Spoilers

Burt may contain game-master-only material, including adventure notes, room contents, monster details, treasure, maps, or campaign secrets. Users must not deliberately seek spoilers in channels or contexts where they are not authorised to access that information.

7. Data and Privacy

Burt may process Discord message content, user IDs, server IDs, channel IDs, role IDs, command usage, and bot configuration data as needed to operate. Where AI features are enabled, relevant prompt content may be sent to third-party AI providers to generate a response.

The separate Privacy Policy explains what Burt collects, stores, shares, and deletes.

8. No Professional Advice

Burt is for entertainment, tabletop gaming, writing, and server utility. Burt does not provide legal, financial, medical, safety, or professional advice. Any such output should be treated as general information only.

9. Availability and Changes

Burt may be unavailable, restarted, updated, limited, or removed without notice. Features and commands may change over time. The bot operator may update these Terms of Service when needed.

10. Termination

The bot operator or server administrators may restrict, suspend, or remove a user’s access to Burt if they breach these terms, abuse commands, cause excessive cost, or misuse server/game content.

11. Contact

For questions about Burt, contact the server owner or bot operator through the Discord server where Burt is installed, or use the QuestKernel contact form.
